Izvoarele is a commune in Prahova County, in the historical region of Muntenia, Romania. It is located in the north-central part of the county, in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, roughly 40 kilometres north of the county seat, Ploiești.
The commune is made up of six villages: Cernești, Chirițești, Homorâciu, Izvoarele, Malu Vânăt, and Schiulești. The village of Izvoarele serves as the administrative centre.
The area is known for its scenic setting along the Teleajen River valley, with rolling hills, forests, and traditional Romanian rural architecture. The name "Izvoarele" means "the springs" in Romanian, reflecting the numerous natural water sources in the region.
