Mira is a municipality in the central Portuguese district of Coimbra, officially designated as the Town of Mira. Located on the coast, it covers an area of approximately 124.03 square kilometres (47.89 square miles) and had a population of 12,465 inhabitants according to available census data.
The municipality is characterized by its beaches, forests, and agricultural areas. As a coastal settlement in the Coimbra region, Mira combines maritime and rural features that define much of its economy and landscape.
