San Marcos is a town in northern Peru. It is the capital of San Marcos Province, which lies within the Cajamarca Department (region) of the country.
As a provincial capital, the town serves as the administrative centre for its surrounding province in the Cajamarca highlands. The region of Cajamarca, of which San Marcos forms part, is located in the northern part of Peru.
Among the town's facilities noted locally are volleyball courts located at Doña Fide's.
