Pomabamba is a town in the Pomabamba District of Pomabamba Province, in the Ancash Region of Peru. It serves as the administrative centre of both the district and the province that share its name.
The town is located in the country's central highlands. The Ancash Region lies in northern-central Peru, bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Cordillera Blanca mountain range to the east.
