Tambobamba

Peru

Tambobamba is a town in the south-central Andes of Peru. It serves as the capital of Cotabambas Province, which lies at the easternmost end of the Department of Apurímac.

The town is situated in a highland Andean setting, consistent with its location in the south-central cordillera of the country. As a provincial capital, it functions as an administrative center for Cotabambas Province.

Tambobamba's position at the eastern edge of Apurímac places it within the broader Andean region of southern Peru, an area characterized by mountainous terrain and high elevation.
