Haquira is a locality in the Apurímac Department of southern Peru. It is also the name given to a large copper deposit in that region, which is among the largest copper reserves in Peru and in the world.
The deposit has estimated reserves of 1.98 billion tonnes of ore grading 0.2% copper. This makes Haquira one of the most significant copper resources in the country.
