Quinjalca is a district in the Amazonas region of northern Peru. It is one of twenty-one districts that make up Chachapoyas Province, the province named for and administered from the regional capital, Chachapoyas.
The district is located in the Andean highlands of the region, a setting typical of the province's rural districts. As a district rather than a city, Quinjalca is a small administrative unit that includes a principal settlement together with surrounding rural communities and countryside.
Its administrative status as one of the twenty-one districts of Chachapoyas Province is the most firmly documented fact about the place. Detailed information on its population, elevation, and local landmarks is limited.
