Lonya Chico is a district in the province of Luya, within the Amazonas region of Peru. It is one of the districts that make up Luya Province, located in the country's northern Amazonas territory.
The area is notable for its archaeological heritage. Several ruins associated with the Chachapoya culture are located within the district. The Chachapoya, often referred to as the "cloud people," inhabited the cloud forest regions of northern Peru before the Inca expansion, and their surviving stone-built sites are among the principal cultural attractions of the wider Luya and Amazonas area.
Beyond its administrative status as a district of Luya Province and the presence of these Chachapoya ruins, Lonya Chico is not widely documented in general reference sources.
