Churuja is a district in the Amazonas region of northern Peru. It is one of twelve districts that make up Bongará Province, a subdivision of the region.
The district lies in the cloud-forested eastern foothills of the Andes, in the inter-Andean valley of the Utcubamba River, a landscape typical of Bongará Province. The area is known for its green, mountainous terrain and for the Churuja waterfall, a local natural attraction.
As a district, Churuja serves as a small administrative and rural settlement within Bongará, whose provincial capital is Jumbilla. The wider province is noted for its coffee production and for natural sites such as the nearby Huaylla Belén valley.
