Cheto

Peru

Cheto is a district of the Chachapoyas Province in the Amazonas Region of Peru. Its administrative seat is the town of Cheto, which sits at an altitude of 2,500 metres above sea level.

The district lies within the Chachapoyas Province, one of the provinces that make up the Amazonas Region in northern Peru. The region is part of the country's Amazonian and Andean transition zone, though the district seat's elevation of 2,500 metres places it in highland terrain rather than lowland rainforest.

Cheto is one of the smaller administrative divisions of Chachapoyas Province, with the town of Cheto serving as its capital and main settlement.
