Rolleston is the seat and largest town within the Selwyn District, situated in the Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island. It is positioned on the Canterbury Plains.
The town is located approximately 22 kilometres (14 mi) south-west of Christchurch. As part of the wider Christchurch metropolitan area, it serves as a significant local hub within the region.
