Mount Eden

New Zealand

Mount Eden is a suburb located in the Auckland region of New Zealand. Situated approximately 4 kilometres south of the Central Business District (CBD), the area takes its name from George Eden, the 1st Earl of Auckland.

The central focus of the suburb is Maungawhau, also known as Mount Eden. This dormant volcano features a summit that serves as the highest natural point on the Auckland isthmus. The surrounding land includes the Mount Eden Domain, which is accessible by vehicle via Mt Eden Road or on foot from various nearby streets.

The local geography is defined by Mt Eden Road, which winds around the side of the domain and descends into the valley toward Three Kings. The suburb's village center is situated roughly between Valley Road and Grange Road.
