Avondale is a suburb located in the Auckland region of New Zealand. It is situated on the Auckland isthmus, positioned to the east of the Whau River.
Originally established as a small settlement, the area experienced growth following the construction of a railway line. This development subsequently led to the establishment of brickworks in the vicinity. Although it was once an independent borough, it was later amalgamated into the City of Auckland.
