Valladolid is a city in the eastern region of the Yucatán state in Mexico, located approximately 170 kilometers east of Mérida, the state capital. It serves as the seat of Valladolid Municipality and is situated about 40 kilometers east of the archaeological site Chichén Itzá and 150 kilometers west of Cancún. According to the 2020 census, the city had a population of 56,494 inhabitants, while the municipality as a whole had 85,460 residents.
The city's strategic location in eastern Yucatán positions it between major tourist destinations and the state capital, making it an accessible point in the peninsula's geography.
