Metepec

Mexico

Metepec is a municipality located in the State of Mexico within the country of Mexico. It is situated at an altitude of 2,635 metres (8,645 ft) above sea level and lies directly to the east of Toluca, the state capital. The city forms part of the Greater Toluca region, with the center of Mexico City located approximately 50 km further to the east.

The name Metepec originates from the Náhuatl language and translates to "hill of the agave plants." Additionally, the location is known as "Nepinta-Tuhi" in the Matlatzinca language, which means "people of corn land," and as "Ntaguada" in the Otomi language.
