San Felipe, also known by its colloquial name San Felipe Torres Mochas, is a city and municipality situated in the northwestern region of the Mexican state of Guanajuato. It serves as a significant administrative division within the state's geography.
The municipality covers an area of 2,969.79 square kilometers, making it the largest municipality in terms of size within the state of Guanajuato. As of the 2010 census, the municipality recorded a population of 106,952 inhabitants.
San Felipe is bordered by several neighboring municipalities and states. It shares its northern border with the municipality of Ocampo and the state of San Luis Potosí; its western border touches the state of Jalisco. To the south, it is bordered by the municipalities of León and Guanajuato, while the southeastern and eastern boundaries are shared with Dolores Hidalgo and San Diego de la Unión, respectively.
