Abasolo is a city and municipality located in the southwestern region of the state of Guanajuato in Mexico. It covers a total area of 601.73 square kilometers.
The municipality shares borders with several neighboring regions: Pueblo Nuevo and Valle de Santiago to the north, the state of Michoacán and Huanímaro to the south, and Pénjamo and Cuerámaro to the west. Population records indicate that the municipality had 79,093 inhabitants in 2005, while the city itself was estimated to have a population of 28,100 in 2020.
