Solferino is a small settlement in the island nation of Mauritius, located in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of Africa. It lies in the Plaines Wilhems District, the central plateau region of the main island, an area that also contains the towns of Vacoas-Phoenix, Quatre Bornes and Curepipe.
Solferino sits within the wider Vacoas-Phoenix area, a town administered by the Municipal Council of Vacoas-Phoenix and known in French as Villes Jumelles. Vacoas-Phoenix lies between Quatre Bornes and Curepipe, with its eastern section extending into the Moka District. Solferino is one of the smaller localities found within this central urban zone rather than a major town in its own right.
Like much of the Plaines Wilhems plateau, the surrounding area is inland and elevated relative to the coastal regions of Mauritius. Detailed published information about Solferino specifically is limited, and it is best understood as part of the central Vacoas-Phoenix conurbation rather than as a separately documented destination.
