Telenești is a city in Moldova and the administrative center of the eponymous district. It lies 91 kilometres north of the capital, Chișinău.
The city administers three villages: Mihălașa, Mihălașa Nouă and Izvoraș. As of 2004, Telenești had a population of 6,855, of whom 89 percent were Moldovan.
