Vaiņode is a village in Vaiņode Parish, South Kurzeme Municipality, in the Courland region of Latvia. It serves as the administrative centre of its parish.
The settlement developed around a railway station established after 1871 on the line between Liepāja and Mažeikiai. Its growth was tied to this rail link, which connected the port city of Liepāja with what is now northern Lithuania.
