Ķegums is a town in Ogre Municipality, Latvia, situated mostly on the right bank of the Daugava River. Latvian law defines the town as divided between two historical regions: Vidzeme on the right bank of the Daugava and Semigallia on the left bank.
The town's position on the Daugava places it within the river valley that runs through the central part of the country, and its administrative location in Ogre Municipality lies to the southeast of Riga. Its division across the river means the town spans two of Latvia's traditional cultural and historical regions.
