Choiseul

Saint Lucia

Choiseul is a location situated within the Choiseul region of Saint Lucia. Originally known as Anse Citron, the area saw the establishment of an independent parish in 1765.

Historical records from a 1769 census indicate that the area contained 69 estates and a population consisting of 75 whites, 25 free coloured individuals, and 512 negroes. While much of the original activity was concentrated in the River Dorée area to the southeast of Choiseul, the site maintains its historical identity within the island's geography.
