Zhastalap is a town located in Atyrau Region in southwest Kazakhstan. The town was formerly known as Gangyushkino before taking its current name. It is situated at an extremely low altitude of approximately 1 meter (3.3 feet) above sea level.
As a settlement in Atyrau Region, Zhastalap is part of Kazakhstan's western territory, which encompasses areas near the Caspian Sea basin. The town's notably low elevation reflects the flat topography characteristic of much of the region.
