Yeoncheon

South Korea

Yeoncheon is a county in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Its administrative seat is the town of Yeoncheon-eup, from which the county takes its name.

The county lies on the Gyeongwon Line, a Korail railroad route that connects Seoul with North Korea. This places Yeoncheon within the northern part of Gyeonggi Province, near the border area between South Korea and North Korea.

Its position on the Gyeongwon Line has made the county a rail-linked settlement on one of the few routes running toward the inter-Korean frontier. Aside from its administrative status and rail connection, the available reference material records no further details about the county's size, population, history, or attractions.
