Chuka is a town located in Kenya on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya. It is situated approximately 65 kilometers south of Meru Town and lies within Tharaka-Nithi County.
The town served as the capital of the Tharaka-Nithi District between 1992 and 2009. Following the division of that district into Meru South and Tharaka, Chuka remained the capital of Meru South before both areas were eventually amalgamated into the current Tharaka-Nithi County.
