Lamu, also known as Lamu Town, is a small town located on Lamu Island within the Lamu Archipelago in Kenya. Situated on the African continent, the town serves as the administrative headquarters for Lamu County.
The town is positioned approximately 341 kilometres (212 mi) by road northeast of Mombasa. To reach the island from the mainland, travelers must travel to Mokowe Jetty and cross a sea channel. Due to its historical significance, Lamu is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
