Iten is a small town located in Elgeyo-Marakwet County within the Republic of Kenya. It serves as one of the region's largest urban centers and is situated at an altitude of 2,400 meters above sea level.
The town is positioned along the road connecting Eldoret and Kabarnet, specifically at the junction leading toward Kapsowar town on the western escarpment of the Gregory Rift. The Elgeyo escarpment and the Kerio River are located to the east of the town. As of the 2019 census, Iten had a population of 42,312.
