Ishigaki is a city located in the Okinawa Prefecture of Japan. It serves as the primary political, cultural, and economic center for the Yaeyama Islands. The city's jurisdiction includes Ishigaki Island as well as the Senkaku Islands territory.
The city covers a total area of 229.00 km2. As of December 2012, it had an estimated population of 48,816, resulting in a population density of 213 persons per km2. The region is served by the New Ishigaki Airport.
