Kamaishi is a city situated along the Sanriku rias coast in the Iwate Prefecture of Japan. It covers a total area of 441.43 square kilometers, which is approximately 170.44 square miles.
As of March 31, 2020, the city had an estimated population of 32,609 residents living in 16,230 households. The recorded population density for the area is 74 persons per square kilometer.
