Asago is a city in northern Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. As of 31 March 2022, it had an estimated population of 28,971 across 12,245 households, with a population density of 72 persons per square kilometre.
The city covers a total area of 403.06 square kilometres (155.62 square miles), a relatively large extent for a Japanese municipality that reflects its low population density and its position in the northern part of the prefecture.
