Ōno is a city situated in the Fukui Prefecture of Japan. It covers a total area of 872.43 square kilometers (336.85 sq mi) and maintains a population density of approximately 34 persons per square kilometer.
The geography of the city is characterized by its location within a ring of mountains. Due to this surrounding terrain, access into and out of the area is restricted to specific mountain roads and tunnels.
