Sahab is a municipality located in the Amman Governorate of Jordan, situated approximately 16 kilometers southeast of the capital city, Amman. It serves as the sole locality within the Sahab District and currently functions as a densely populated industrial hub for the region.
The modern settlement originated in the late 19th century during Ottoman rule as a Bedouin-owned plantation village. In 1894, Egyptian migrant farmers purchased and settled the land, developing it into an agricultural estate. Sahab was officially established as its own municipality in 1962.
The area is notable for housing the Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein Industrial Estate, which is the largest industrial city in Jordan. Additionally, the locality contains the largest cemetery in greater Amman and the Caves of Raqeem site, a location referenced in the Qur'an. As of 2015, the population of Sahab was recorded at 169,434.
