Verrayes

Italy

Verrayes is a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of north-western Italy. It is one of the many small municipalities that make up this mountainous, bilingual region, which borders France and Switzerland and is Italy's smallest region by area.

The comune is situated in the central part of the Aosta Valley, in the Alps of north-western Italy. Like other settlements in the region, it lies within a predominantly alpine landscape, and the Aosta Valley as a whole is characterised by its mountainous terrain and its official bilingual status, with both Italian and French used in public life.

Verrayes is administered as a comune, the basic unit of local government in Italy. As a small alpine community in the Aosta Valley, it forms part of the region's network of scattered towns and villages rather than a large urban centre.
