Ollomont

Italy

Ollomont is a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of north-west Italy. It is one of the numerous small municipalities that make up this autonomous alpine region, which lies in the far north-west of the country and shares borders with France and Switzerland.

The Aosta Valley is Italy's smallest region by area and is characterised by its mountainous terrain, dominated by the Alps. Ollomont sits within this alpine setting, in a region where Italian and French are both recognised, reflecting the area's long-standing cultural and linguistic ties across the Alps.

Like other comuni in the region, Ollomont is a minor administrative centre rather than a large urban settlement. The Aosta Valley as a whole is known for its concentration of high peaks, including Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn on its borders, and for a network of valleys that shape settlement and travel through the area.
