Arnad is a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of northwestern Italy. It is one of the municipalities that make up this small, bilingual Alpine region, which borders France and Switzerland and is Italy's smallest region by area.
The comune sits in the lower Aosta Valley, in the part of the valley where the terrain opens toward the Dora Baltea river plain before the valley narrows again toward the Alps. Like other settlements in the region, it is situated among the Alpine foothills and mountains that define the geography of the Aosta Valley.
Arnad is known within the region for its production of Lard d'Arnad, a cured pork fat specialty that is one of the valley's traditional food products. The town is also associated with the nearby Forte di Bard, a historic fortress that stands close by and is one of the best-known landmarks in this part of the Aosta Valley.
