Arborio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Vercelli, in the Italian region of Piedmont. It is located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) northeast of Turin and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Vercelli, the provincial capital.
The comune sits in the plains of the Vercelli area of Piedmont, a part of northern Italy historically associated with rice cultivation. Arborio shares its name with Arborio rice, the short-grain variety used in risotto, which takes its name from the town.
