Barni is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como, within the Lombardy region of northern Italy.
It lies roughly 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Milan and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northeast of Como, placing it in the lake district of the province near the foothills of the Alps.
As a comune, Barni is the basic unit of local government in Italy, with its own municipal administration. It is one of many small municipalities scattered across the Province of Como, a territory that stretches from the city of Como northward toward the Swiss border.
