Azzanello is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cremona, in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) southeast of Milan and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northwest of Cremona, the provincial capital.
As a comune, Azzanello is the basic unit of local government in Italy, encompassing the settlement and its surrounding territory within the Cremona province. The province lies in the Lombardy plain of northern Italy, a region characterised by flat agricultural land drained by the Po River and its tributaries.
Its position roughly 20 kilometres from Cremona places it within the immediate hinterland of that city, while Milan, the regional capital of Lombardy, lies about 60 kilometres to the northwest.
