Asola is a comune (municipality) in the province of Mantua, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is located in the Po Valley area of the province, southeast of Mantua.
The town holds the honorary title of city, which was granted by a presidential decree dated October 23, 1951. This formal designation distinguishes it administratively from an ordinary comune.
