Capriglia Irpina is a town and comune in the province of Avellino, in the Campania region of Italy. It is one of the many small municipalities that make up the inland part of the province, situated in the hills of Irpinia east of Naples.
As a comune, it is an administrative unit with its own local government, encompassing the town itself and its surrounding territory. The province of Avellino, to which it belongs, lies in the Apennine interior of Campania, a region whose other well-known centres include Naples, Salerno and Caserta.
Like other settlements in this part of southern Italy, Capriglia Irpina is a small community within a predominantly rural and hilly landscape. The name "Irpina" links it to the historic district of Irpinia, the area around Avellino.
