Italy

Arsita is a medieval town and comune in the Province of Teramo, within the Abruzzo region of eastern Italy. It lies in the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park, a protected area of the central Apennines known for its mountains and highland landscapes.

The town was known as Bacucco until 1905, when its name was changed to Arsita. Its origins as a medieval settlement are reflected in its historic character, and it remains a small comune within the provincial administrative structure of Teramo.

Arsita's position inside the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park is its most notable geographic feature, placing it within one of Italy's largest national parks and in the mountainous terrain of the Abruzzo Apennines.
