Aielli is a comune and town in the Province of L'Aquila, in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It lies in the Marsica, the historical and geographical area of the Abruzzo that surrounds the former basin of Lake Fucino.
The town is situated in the plain of the former Lake Fucino, the lake that once occupied the centre of the Marsica before its drainage in the nineteenth century. Aielli is therefore part of the group of settlements in that plain and its surrounding area.
Administratively, Aielli is one of the comuni of the Province of L'Aquila, the westernmost province of Abruzzo.
