Rawah (also spelled Rawa) is a city in Iraq's Anbar region located on the north bank of the Euphrates River, approximately 20 kilometers upstream from the larger town of Anah. The city sits along this major waterway in western Iraq.
Rawah is populated by Sunni Arabs. The inhabitants are known as Rawi or by the surname al-Rawi and trace their lineage to the Prophet's family, bearing the title of nobility known as sharif.
