Udaipur, formerly known as Rangamati, is located in the state of Tripura, India. It serves as a significant urban center and is the third largest urban area within the state. The city is situated approximately 55 kilometers from Agartala, which is the capital of Tripura.
The city holds historical significance as it served as the capital of the state during the reign of the Manikya dynasty. Administratively, Udaipur functions as a Municipal Council and serves as the headquarters for the Gomati district.
Udaipur is notably recognized for the Tripura Sundari temple, also known as the Tripureswari temple. This site is distinguished as one of the 51 Shakta pithas.
