Carrigaline is a town and civil parish located in County Cork, Ireland, situated along the River Owenabue. Positioned approximately 12 kilometres south of Cork city, it serves as an important gateway to west Cork, particularly for travelers arriving by ferry from France.
The town experienced rapid growth during the late 20th century, expanding from a small village into one of the largest commuter towns in the county. While its population currently stands at over 18,000, some local residents still refer to the area as "the village."
Carrigaline is situated within the Cork South-Central Dáil constituency. It is accessible via the R611 regional road, which sits just off the N28 national primary route leading toward Ringaskiddy.
