Jalapa is a municipality located in the Jalapa Department of Guatemala, serving as the departmental seat. With an area of 686 square kilometers (265 square miles), it is the largest municipality by area within the Jalapa Department. According to 2023 estimates, the municipality had a population of 195,321 inhabitants.
