La Libertad is a town and municipality in the department of Huehuetenango, in the western highlands of Guatemala. It lies at an elevation of 1,720 metres above sea level.
The municipality covers an area of 231 square kilometres and has a population of 38,234. It is one of the municipalities that make up the department of Huehuetenango.
