Guatemala City

Guatemala

Guatemala City, colloquially known as Guate, is the national capital and largest city of the Republic of Guatemala. It serves as the municipal capital of the surrounding Guatemala Department and is situated in a mountain valley called Valle de la Ermita in the south-central region of the country.

The city's metropolitan area is recognized as the largest in Central America. It functions as a primary urban center for the nation, balancing its role as a political hub with its geographical position within the mountainous landscape of the interior.
