Nkawkaw is a town located in southern Ghana and serves as the capital of the Kwahu West Municipal district within the Eastern Region. As of 2013, the settlement had a recorded population of 61,785 people.
The town is geographically characterized as being situated in a valley and is recognized as the gateway for those ascending the Kwahu mountains. The current member of parliament representing the Kwahu West constituency is Hon. Joseph Frempong, who was elected in 2020.
