Asamankese is a town located in southern Ghana. It serves as the capital of the West Akim Municipal District within the Eastern Region of the country.
The town is situated along the main highway connecting the cities of Kumasi and Accra in the interior. As of 2013, the settlement had a population of approximately 39,435 people. The local community celebrates the Obuodwan festival.
